About

The Brick Lane Gallery is pleased to announce the opening of Art in Mind: Fusion, an eclectic exhibition providing an introduction to the diverse and energetic nature of the contemporary art-scene. Through showcasing over 50 outstanding artworks in a wide range of artistic styles and mediums, the show brings together different disciplines, backgrounds, ideas, and cultures from 10 local and international artists. The exhibition presents original paintings, drawings, sculptures and limited edition prints, many of which will be exhibited, and available for sale, for the first time.

James O’Reilly presents his black and white vinyl series exploring the concept of recorded music, its effect on the human being and the increased accessibility to music through technology. Music fuses with us at a root level and is uniquely able to stimulate in us something primal - emotions that can induce dance, movement, stillness, and calm. James works explore the theme of humanity’s inevitable connection to technology. Humanity is also Pedro Demetriou’s muse; people, society and modern culture endlessly inspire him. He aims to communicate and integrate his experiences of commuting on the buses, tubes and trains, with different ways of telling London Commuter’s stories through his illustrations. “The Tweed Run Collection” by James Jepson came to life after he moved back to the UK and Jamison decided to re-engage with all things British and focus on capturing an objective view of what Britishness had become in his absence. His collection looks to fuse the admiration of the landed gentry, the fascination with industrial Chic, hipster fashions and of course a unique history of anthropomorphic woodland creatures.

Art in Mind: Fusion celebrates the diversity in art reflected and highlighted by these innovative, creative and unconventional artworks. We welcome you to join us at the opening of ART IN MIND on Wednesday 29th April 6pm – 8:30pm at The Brick Lane Galley – The Annexe.
