This exciting and engaging exhibition includes works in a variety of media from painting to printmaking, sculpture to video and installation. This year’s Foundation group started with a range of experience and different backgrounds in art, and the course has enabled all the students to successfully develop their practice and work towards their own goals as artists.
This year, a record number of students have secured places to study Art subjects at degree level, in areas including BA Fine Art, BA Printmaking, BA Illustration, BA Footwear Design and BA Interior Design at institutions such as University of Brighton, Middlesex University, Camberwell College of Art, University of East London, Cordwainers College (London College of Fashion), Kingston University and London Metropolitan University. One student has gained a place to study MA Printmaking at Middlesex University, and another intends to progress to the Advanced Painting Practice course at Morley College.
The Art Foundation course is validated by the University of the Arts London Awarding Body, and has been running at Morley since 2011. This part time course provides an intensive and structured programme of study in Fine Art practice and offers the opportunity to prepare a portfolio of work for application to higher education or other study. The course is designed to build experience, knowledge and skills across a variety of different areas including drawing, sketchbooks, painting, printmaking, sculpture, photography and video.
