Studio practice and critical studies course that integrates practice and theory in a programme of lectures, seminars, workshops, off-site visits, tutorials, assignments, feedback and peer support.
About
Develop your practice and extend your knowledge of critical practices, theories and discourses of contemporary art. This online/hybrid course integrates practice and theory and fosters experimentation and collaborative learning in a community of peers. The syllabus includes:
- Six participatory lectures & reading seminars
- Group tutorials with peer review & written feedback
- Research & creative practice workshops
- Off-site visits to articulate aesthetic judgements
- Writing workshops to develop statements, proposals & reviews
- Optional one-to-one peer mentoring & peer-led support group
By the end of the course participants will have a critical awareness of contemporary art, with a road map and toolbox of methodologies, skills and resources for their continuing practice and the confidence to pursue it independently.
The course is open to everyone but it is particularly suited to those who wish to contextualise their practice and extend their knowledge.
