For the first time, more than 32 leading Rotterdam art galleries and institutions are joining forces to organise Art Central Rotterdam XL.
About
On 12 and 13 March 2022, from 12.00 to 17.00, people can immerse themselves in and join tours of the galleries and exhibition spaces to celebrate and further promote Rotterdam's vibrant visual arts scene as a valuable part of the city. Rotterdam is a cultural breeding ground for contemporary art; the galleries and exhibition spaces showcase the latest developments in the visual arts.
With a (stamp) map, including an overview and locations of all participating parties, people can join the organised bicycle tours (recommended) or plan their own route. Art Central Rotterdam XL is therefore a unique opportunity to experience and discover the flourishing art world of Rotterdam.
For example, you can be surprised by the thistle sculptures of Caroline Coolen at NL=US Art, wonder where the animal ends and the human begins in the paintings of Keetje Mans at Cokkie Snoei, admire the works of Iris Kensmil inspired by the Afro-American emancipation struggle at Kunstinstituut Melly, and experience Huidenclub's first presentation after the renovation.
