“I moved to NYC in 2008 in a school bus filled with my paintings, but with zero money. After navigating the apparently endless opportunities New York offers up to the young artist, I eventually settled into a role on the other side of the fence as a curator and gallerist. I’ve helped manage hundreds of artists as part of a large artist-run collective and have spent the last 6 years dealing with galleries, buyers, fair-runners, and artists working on all levels. I’ve put on more than 300 exhibitions since 2014 with artists ranging from the absolute newbie, to the established and mid-career.
The art world can be very intimidating! I wish I had someone to ask the ‘stupid questions’ back when I was first starting out and learning how things really work. So allow me to invite you into Solas Studio’s beautiful Flatiron location for an evening of discussion on what the *$%^ is going on out there and how you can help yourself avoid the expensive mistakes.”
