The art trail offers a great day out looking around a fascinating mix of studios whilst exploring this stunning AONB. Each artist will be on hand to discuss their creative methods and ideas as well as selling their work. This year we will arrange timed visits if necessary (keep an eye on our Facebook page) as well as creating an on line studio tour for those visitors who can’t join us ‘in the flesh’.
Participating artists -Rowena Beaty (sculpture), Hilary Rose Burt (ceramic sculpture and painting), Alison Critchlow (painting), Roger Golding ( painting and printmaking), Jonathan Leech ( contemporary woodturning).
Leaflets showing the route and places of interest will be available to print off from our Facebook page and a waymarked trail will guide you around. Only 30 minutes from Carlisle we think you will enjoy the journey, and find lots to see and be inspired by. Take time to explore this ancient landscape - internationally important salt marsh and raised bog areas make this a unique paradise for wildlife and artists alike! A warm welcome awaits. You can read more about the artists involved and the ‘island’ on our Facebook page ‘Around the Island Art Trail’. The trail takes place over 2 weekends 19 - 20th September and 26 -27th September 2020
