About
Turn Gallery is pleased to present Ariel Dill’s Cosmic Springs.
Reflected in the playful title, Cosmic Springs, where multiple meanings of the words allude to internal and external worlds, Dill's paintings layer shifting compositions as imagination takes root and seeing with our senses comes first. Forms, colors and brushstrokes may seem to become animals, costumes, expressions and landscapes. Dill's paintings straddle abstraction and a not quite figurative but suggestive imagery. With no single layer dominating, drawing and washes of color tangle with more concrete passages of ribbon-like gestures of paint that appear to be floating in the ether, ghostlike. Like a mirror to the psyche. What do you see?
