Arca to lead group meditation on Piccadilly Lights to help kick the Blue Monday blues and launch the CIRCA Scholarship Programme
Following the global launch across 7 major cities of her debut visual art commission for CIRCA, Arca invites audiences to join her online and on the iconic Piccadilly Lights this Blue Monday (8pm, 17 January 2022) for a special 10-minute group meditation to help combat the most depressing day of the year and launch a new scholarship programme created in partnership between CIRCA and Goldsmiths University.
Blurring the line between art and technology, Arca trained a generative adversarial network (GAN) with 31 images of her paintings, allowing these material real-world artworks to transcend the physical realm. This unique sensory experience will light up the iconic landmark on the most depressing day of the year and guide audiences to combat the stress and anxiety experienced throughout the pandemic:
“I hope you are compelled by these interpolated paintings of mine to take a moment and let the visual ASMR produce pleasure, allow for a moment of respite and solace, the experience of warped beauty.”
