In celebration of 10 years of supporting artists and our community through intimate and experimental exhibitions Actual Size is pleased to present Applicant Clinic. Applicant Clinic is an evolving exhibition and resource center open to all creative practitioners. Over the months of February, March, and April 2020 the gallery will serve as a site of documentation, production, and support for artists who wish to photograph their work, edit their image selections, and refine their artist statements. When artists apply to a large grant, art school, or exhibition their success as an applicant is determined partially by secondary source material. The strength of a proposal or portfolio is contingent on quality of images and clarity of text as much as artistic integrity. Applicant Clinic aims to tip the scale for artists who have less financial, institutional, and social support in creating these secondary documents, while also encouraging collaboration and mutual aid among artists. This opportunity is free to people of all backgrounds, with specific interest in aiding individuals who are without studios or gallery representation.
