About
Anything But The Eyes is an artistic exploration of the relationship that we have with our eyes, and the concerns that many people have with consenting to donate their corneas after their death. Organ donation is part of daily life in the UK. Its benefits are well known, and the law regarding organ donation in England is changing to support it further.
For some people though the concern about parting with their eyes is so great that they cannot agree to donate them. Art informs medicine in this exhibition that presents the artworks of Jennie Jewitt-Harris, a doctor and artist in association with sound artist Oliver Jewitt-Harris.
Jennie Jewitt-Harris through drawing, collage, painting, sound art, stereo photography and mask-making, explores the findings of a series of interviews carried out with people who had agreed to donate Anything But The Eyes.
