Galleria Ramo announces the second appointment at the space in Via Natta 31, Como, Italy, with a solo exhibition by Matteo Messori (1993, Reggio Emilia, IT) and curated by Federica Fiumelli.

About

"Antiforma" - the title of the exhibition has the artist Matteo Messori bring to the space of the Galleria Ramo and  introducing the will to investigate the form in the present day; the need to fight against a precondition that humanity seems to have created. The paintings and sculptural installations of Messori accompany us in a profound reflection of predominantly blue tones - a color that by nature has always accompanied art - from Giotto's naturalism to the immateriality desired by Yves Klein.

The works, like a metaphor, reflect in part the contemporary discomfort - the generally "anti" of man - immersed in his mistakes, either being ethical or political. That of Messori is a monologue against - an "anti" speech.

There are two important factors in the research of the formwork - a form in contrast with itself: Messori's inspiration for a masterpiece like "The Triumph of Death" the oil painting on panel by Pieter Bruegel the Elder - where some details like systems punishment of gallows bring us back to the anti-form of the artist from Reggio nearing imminent judgment - as if they were guilty of dependence on a vice.

The other factor is due to a biographical and intimacy of the artist, afflicted by the congenital deficit of the leptin receptor - which substantially prevents the perception of satiety by the affected subject. The impossibility of feeling satiated therefore becoming an expressive urgency which results in an expiation of sins deriving from an unconscious vice - an insatiable - phagocytating throat.

Matteo Messori graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Bologna with Giovanni Mundula. Between 2017 and 2018 he was present in a residency at the P420 Contemporary Art gallery in Bologna. In 2018 he was selected for the "Combat" Award, that led him to participate in the exhibition of the finalists of the same Prize held at the "Fattori" Museum in Livorno. Among his solo exhibitions include  Spazio Display of Parma, Castiglione de Pepoli (BO), Officina 15. He recently realized a permanent work located in the Parco Nazionale delle Dune Costiere, Puglia during his residency at LandXcape. He is currently attending the first year of the Specialist Biennium of the Academy of Fine Arts in Bologna (course of Painting).

He currently lives and works in Reggio Emilia.
