Anthony Faroux's work gives importance to the available moment, the present, the immediate surrounding. Objects, places or people become the centre of attention, a field for visual investigation. The result tries to put side by side, a sense of imaginary and materiality.
This exhibition will feature works realised during his time as Durham Cathedral Artist in Residence 2010/11.
Previous solo shows by Anthony Faroux include 43 Inverness, London and Five Years, London. His videos have been screened at Recontres Internationales, Paris/Berlin, Madrid and Fourth Video Festival, Cairo.
The Durham Cathedral Artist in Residency is supported by Durham Cathedral Chaper, University of Sunderland's Faculty of Arts, Design, Media and Culture, St. Chad's College, Durham University, The National Lottery through Arts Council England and Durham County Council.
