A vibrant and gentle exhibition of black and white portraits featuring eighty or so people who truly belong in Deal and its surrounds.
It is a continuation of a living, breathing archive through photographs of some of the amazing people who make our talented community what it is.
Having been a portrait photographer for at least 25 years I came to live in Deal in 2007. Soon after, and with the encouragement and support of many of my new friends, I put together a selection of 80 portraits and held the first Real Deal exhibition in April 2010. A book of the images accompanied that project. It was a snapshot in time, and it was always my intention to revisit the subject.
This exhibition at the Linden Hall Studio consists of an entirely new collection of portraits of more people whose lives and work are centred in the locality. A new book of these images will also include most of the images from the 2010 exhibition.
Come along and meet familiar and not always so familiar faces, of men and women who are proud of our town and are an integral part of our community.
