Annin Arts are proud to present David Salle who will exhibit publicly on billboard

David Salle is a prominent American painter, writer and director. He earned 

a BFA & MFA from California Institute of the Arts in 1973, 1975. 

Salle played a pivotal role in the return to painting of the late 70’s/early 80’s.

His oeuvre spans not only painting, writing and directing but also set design. 

In 1986 Salle received a Guggenheim fellowship for theatre design whilst his 

collection of critical essays ‘How to see’ was published by W.W. Norton in 2016.

Salle’s solo exhibitions include a retrospective at Stedelijk museum, Amsterdam, 1999,

Mary Boone, New York,1981, Gagosian, New York, 1981, Leo Castelli, New York, 1982,

Akira Ikeda Gallery, Tokyo, Japan, 1983, Galerie Michael Werner, Cologne, Germany, 1985,
