Enjoy a bit of blue sky thinking at Ethel Loves Me's latest pop-up featuring architecturally-inspired artist Annie Graham
About
Annie Graham is the next artist to pop-up at Rye’s Ethel Loves Me, as part of the store’s on-going series of exhibitions showcasing local artists.
Annie worked as an art director in advertising before following in the footsteps of her artist father and taking up the brush, looking at her subjects with a graphic eye. Her pictures are inspired by photographs taken both at home and abroad, be they scenes, urban landscapes or the shapes and shadows of a building or structure.
Annie says: “I like to think I exaggerate a true image with stronger angles and colours – a brighter reality! I love a blue sky and am excited when I see an image that is perfect for painting!”
Annie’s paintings are in acrylic on board and canvas and all her paintings are also available as limited-edition giclée prints. The pop-up exhibition, which includes paintings inspired by the architecture of her hometown Tonbridge Wells as well as Hastings and St Leonards, runs at Ethel Loves Me from 27th June to 17th July.
