Modern Art Oxford presents FIELD, an exhibition of new work by British artist Anne Hardy (b. 1970).
About
Hardy introduces the idea of a ‘field’ as a zone of interest, terrain or an open-ended psychological space. Working with sculptural installation, audio, text and image, the Upper Gallery becomes a series of these arenas, their boundaries defined by shifts in lighting, audio and colour.
Hardy came to prominence in the 2000’s, with a series of photographs of constructions made in her studio; each one built, photographed and subsequently discarded.
In her work since 2013, Hardy’s approach to making images has shifted to sculpture itself based on using objects, materials and audio to construct environments where we encounter her work in the physical world.
