Animals, Colour and Light is Amanda Drage’s debut solo show and takes place at the Alfred East Art Gallery in Kettering. The exhibition runs from the 2nd until the 30th of September and will explore the effects of light, colour and contrasts, with animals and wildlife as the subjects.
Amanda was awarded this solo show after winning the People’s Choice award at the Alfred East Art Gallery's own Open 16 show, along with the overall prize from the judges of the exhibition. It’s thanks to this opportunity that Amanda has been able to develop a new collection of original work that explores her favourite subjects.
Speaking earlier this month about the exhibition Amanda said, “I'm so grateful to have had this opportunity to create a new body of work, and to be exhibiting it in such a great gallery space at the Alfred East. Since going full time as an artist a few years ago most of my work has been to commission, and I have really enjoyed this chance to get back to my artistic roots. I’m really excited to share this new collection of wildlife work”.
