New paintings by Tristan Barlow and Agnieszka Katz Barlow
About
SCI-FI ANIMAL/ANIMAL SCI-FI brings together two bodies of work created in close dialogue. Agnieszka Katz Barlow’s “I run on all fours” and Tristan Barlow’s “Primavera” are the outcome of an intense artistic dialogue involving discussions and reflections about the visual thinking process, anthropocentric phenomena, social structures, and the pursuit of freedom. The artists have worked in close proximity of each other, exchanging imagery, thoughts, and ideas. The two bodies of work both exhibit a world of invented mythologies, symbols, and personal language.
The culmination of this dialogue questions our primal nature, our digital tools, and sharp moments of brief understanding that hit the nervous system as we try to decipher what is nature, what is nurture and where it might head.
