A solo exhibition of Rebeka Lord's paintings exploring how everyday scenery and objects are perceived and then deconstructed and reconstructed in negative/positive space to create new objects.
About
A thought provoking and challenging exhibition of paintings by Rebeka Lord as she explores how people perceive objects differently and how certain points can act as points of deconstruction and construction in creating new objects in negative and positive space. She explores modernist architecture and how its fascination with angles helps create objects and structures that expand possibilities and imagination. Using prints of her own photographs Rebeka explores how an image is documented by a camera and then using oil, conte pastel and graphite, she accentuates and creates new perspectives, structures and spaces. Her paintings of Bexhill Beach Shelters reimagines how these objects can be exploded into other worldly objects. Everyday becomes alien and unfamiliar as angles transform and accentuate new lines of perception.
