"Angels' Share" curated by Deniz Artun, brings together certain works which are set aside in the homes, studios of artists and seen by very small number of people and aims to introduce them to a wider audience.
About
"Angels' Share" is the name given to the volume which evaporates from the wooden whisky casks during the process of maturation. Depending on the temperature of the geography, percentage of this volume may change between 2-16% per year. The alcohol which disappears into air, the loss, is believed to be "angels' share" and maturity can be achieved only by the "payment" of this share. Some of the young artists in the group who live and work in Ankara have never exhibited before. This meeting takes the opportunity to show their works and help distance themselves from their productions, open up their works for critique and decide which way and direction to move. Relatively obscure works, with materials and techniques different from their identifiable styles produced by celebrated artists such as late Erol Akyavaş, Mehmet Koyunoğlu and Mübin Orhon will also be on show.
This juxtaposition in "Angels' Share", will provide for viewing the lesser known works by distinguished artists, in possible new associations with works from a younger generation of artists some of whom to be exhibited for the first time.
