An art collection that contemplates on the myth of Andromeda will be presented from 29 May to 8 June 2014 at the Brick Lane Gallery, London. The collection is entitled ANDROMEDA LIBERATED and it is the second and concluding part of Dimitra Viveli's negotiation of the Andromeda myth. In a manner consistent to the artist's previous work, it provides evidence of an active exchange between visual art and idealistic philosophy, seen as a process of revealing the semiotics and hermeneutics of a reality that is equally physical and imperceptible.
While the first part, LIBERATING ANDROMEDA, denied a world of fallacy and deception and set out to claim a more genuine alternative to the universe, this concluding part seeks to trace the reality transmutations that come about after sacrifice has been cancelled out, giving way to unaltered truth and beauty to flourish and reign.
The ANDROMEDA LIBERATED collection is presented as part of the ART IN MIND group exhibition.
