About
Let 'em Kuchen essen is a social critique on 'die Modernisierung' or the energy efficiency renovations currently happening in Berlin.
Across the city, a cheap and fraudulent material, EIFS polystyrene is being applied like a second skin to the exterior of buildings. It is a renovation measure subsidized by the Federal Government and lauded as an environmental practice. Paradoxically, this styrofoam material is anything but environmental.
The use of this material is short sighted and highly problematic from a social and environmental perspective and a main driver of rent rises and evictions across the city.
Andrew Thomas Parry is a contemporary artist with a background in architecture. He lives and works in Berlin.
Come join us at the usual place for discussion, FREE Craft Beer from Straßenbräu, and a performance by Adam Asnan in his absence.
