About
A dynamic collaboration of women artists is poised to unveil new work in a thought-provoking exhibition entitled And therein lie the Guts… The collective aim of the artists, who undertook their MA degrees together, is to create a space where the power and resilience of women are celebrated and showcased through a diverse array of artistic perspectives, challenging conventional norms and inviting viewers to delve into the depths of the artists' imagination.
And therein lie the Guts… is an exploration of themes that range from personal identity and societal expectations to the raw and unfiltered aspects of the human experience. This exhibition will feature an eclectic mix of media, including live performance, painting, sculpture, moving image and mixed media installations, reflecting the diverse collection of art practices within the group.
The title And therein lie the Guts… encapsulates the boldness and vulnerability that these artists bring to their practice, and a fearless exploration of what it means to be a woman in today's world. Each artist brings her unique perspective to the table, unapologetically laying bare the guts not only of their art practice and processes but emotion and identity, to engage audiences in a dialogue about the underlying themes that permeate their work.
The opening night promises to be a provocative and illuminating experience, and an opportunity for viewers to engage with the artists themselves.
