Michael Pinchbeck remembers plays The Falcon Players have performed at Loughborough University by re-appropriating the stage directions, the words that were never meant to be heard, and juxtaposing them with personal reflections on how it felt to follow them taken from interviews with the group.
The installation at the Cope Auditorium will sit somewhere between the amateur and the academic, onstage and offstage. And The Curtain Falls marks the end of a series of projects stemming from an interest in amateur dramatics as both a mode of performance and a meditation on memory, nostalgia and loss.
