A Solo Exhibition by Marisa R Ng
About
This abstract body of work is created using industrial materials—silicone on aluminium—transformed through an intuitive, emotional process.
The exhibition takes its name from anandamide, a naturally occurring neurotransmitter often referred to as the "bliss molecule." Derived from the Sanskrit word ananda, meaning “joy” or “bliss,” anandamide plays a key role in mood regulation, memory, and healing.
For Marisa, the act of creation is a deeply personal and restorative journey. She approaches her art not from fear or necessity, but from a place of freedom and presence. Just as dopamine fuels motivation and pleasure, her artistic process becomes a series of micro-healings—each silicone stroke a quiet act of release and renewal.
Anandamide is known to be released during moments of joy, meditation, deep connection, and creativity—echoing the essence of Marisa’s work. In this exhibition, her journey unfolds in layers: delicate yet powerful, contemplative yet cathartic.
