Join fine artist Tanya Wood for 'An Introduction to Drawing'!
About
This is a session for those with little or no experience. A chance to make friends with pencil and paper, and explore the potential of mark making.
Use line, texture and tone to describe your near surroundings with step-by-step guidance, demonstrations, practical exercises, support and encouragement of your tutor.
Build confidence, skills and knowledge and begin drawing what you see in and around the gallery and Gunwharf Quays itself (weather permitting!).
These activities have been inspired by Aspex's new artist-in-residence Stephen Turner, and his Exbury Egg -- located in City Quay, Gunwharf Quays (Portsmouth).
Stephen Turner's Exbury Egg is a wooden egg-shaped sculpture in which the artist lived and worked for over a year through 2013 and 2014.
All materials provided will be provided, alongside tea & coffee. You are welcome to bring your own lunch or purchase from our cafe partners Lily & Lime LD.
