Artist duo Webb-Ellis transform the gallery at Crescent Arts into a living, evolving, generative installation inspired by Susan Hiller's 'Homage to Joseph Beuys' series for Museums at Night 2016.

About

Join us for this unique workshop to explore the process of creating with artists Webb-Ellis. The workshop will have a practical element and will cover activities and ideas such as; storytelling, memory and association, collage, the editing process, fact and fiction and digital detritus. Webb-Ellis will lead  ‘pilgrimages’ in September and October to collect holy water from ancient sacred wells in Valentine’s Park in Ilford and St. Hilda's Holy Spring in Hackness, North Yorkshire. These secular pilgrimage will explore the hidden potential of everyday experiences, and the gallery at Crescent Arts will contain research material (images, books, text, writing, drawings, sound and video etc.) as well as the means to produce more material (computers, camera, microphone, printer). These will be available to visitors to use, working with Webb-Ellis to add to a growing web of connections and associations that will culminate in the creation of a new audio-visual installation for Museums at Night in October. This will open simultaneously at both Crescent Arts and The Nunnery Gallery in East London on Thursday 27th October.

Join us for a unique workshop on Saturday 15th October at 1.00pm to explore the process of creating with artists Webb-Ellis. The workshop will have a practical element and will cover activities and ideas such as; storytelling, memory and association, collage, the editing process, fact and fiction and digital detritus.
