About

Join us to learn about TAG's current exhibitions from artsits Karen Fiorito & Ernie Marjoram.

Sign Language, Karen Fiorito’s solo exhibition explores political environment through intricate replicas of public billboards, displayed alongside photographs of the actual billboards. The collection highlights Fiorito’s 20-year career as an artist and political activist. “Art and Activism are the two most important things in my life. Activism, including social, political, and environmental causes, permeates everything I do, from my roles as artist and curator, to every action in my daily life,” states Fiorito. “Sign Language is a celebration of Artivism (Art + Activism), which creates ideas and engages the public in conversations and actions towards the greater good,” the artist explains.

Ernie Marjoram’s My Italia exhibition is inspired by his travels through Italy. The collection presents the classic processes of renaissance painters through utilizing available, modern materials.  “Living in Florence has been a major influence on my art. Influenced by master renaissance artists, I strive to achieve a high degree of realism and craftsmanship in my works,” proclaims Marjoram. “Technical achievement is not my final goal. Just as the experiments of renaissance painters redefined western art, I believe that 21st century artists should explore new subjects, materials, tools and technologies. Imagine what Leonardo would have done with a laptop,” the artist elaborates.
