''an act of happening' An exhibition of work by artists studying for their Masters at Camberwell College
About
The group of artists involved in 'an act of happening' are based in Camberwell. All come from different artistic backgrounds and share a sense of purpose and creative ambition. This exhibition encompasses the artistic process, rather than focusing on the finished article. As artists, they stress the importance of the fear and excitement in producing work where the outcome is unknown. The process in itself unearths material which is overlooked or discarded as just an element of preparation. But it is the freedom through exploration that can produce the most interesting and enlightening ideas.
'an act of happening' deals with the impulsiveness of creative expression, and demonstrates a point in time of ongoing development. As a collective they are assured in their determination, despite the unknown direction of their individual paths.
Due to the transient nature of the show, work will be varied in media, from drawing and print, to text, painting, and sculpture.
