ASSEMBLY
14 Nov 2018 – 18 Nov 2018
Somerset House
London, United Kingdom
£8.00
Commissioned with the support of the Case Foundation, Studios residents Paul Purgas and Imran Perretta debut new audio-visual project, AMRA, alongside a performance from Paris-based electronic and dance artist NSDOS.
AMRA is an audio-visual collaboration between Imran Perretta and Paul Purgas. Incorporating electronic sound and analogue media, AMRA addresses South Asian identity, diasporic echoes and archival disruption. The artists will present a live audio-visual performance of AMRA for the first time as part of the ASSEMBLY series.
Performing in the UK for only the third time, NSDOS brings his unravelling of techno music's rectilinear anatomy to the Studios with a performance in which textures are exploded, sounds are mutilated and brought back to their essence. An artist working simultaneously across music, dance, digital art, and instrument building, Paris-based NSDOS - aka Kirikoo Des - takes up residency with Studios based Music Hackspace this November.
