In “Stay in the Moment”, Amina Hunte breathes life into her travel memories, capturing her adventures in-between her canvas and paintbrush; each brushstroke, borne from treasured moments experienced on her journeys. Her paintings serve as the vessel through which she both preserves and delivers the essence of her experience to a wider audience.
The series originally sparked by her journey to Ghana in 2016 soon took on a life of its own. Since then the collection has blossomed, drawing on inspiration from her trips to France, Spain, Italy and Switzerland. The collection described by Hunte as ‘feel-good art’ is a celebration of colours bringing together vivid patterns and imagery. The deliberate vibrancy of her works for this exhibition originates from her desire to uplift her audience with her work. Hunte hopes her paintings draw the viewer into her stories and bring a smile to their face.
