An exhibition of art-works by conceptual artist Amikam Toren.
About
An exhibition of art-works by conceptual artist Amikam Toren.
Curated by Professor Phillip Lindley (School of Design and Creative Arts, Loughborough University)
Amikam Toren is one of the most interesting conceptual artists of the last half-century. He is well represented in Tate’s collection and internationally and in 2021 won the valuable David and Yuko Juda prize. All the pieces in this exhibition employ paintings he purchased, from which, or with which, Toren has created his own art-works. This category of his art comprises three inter-connected series and a fourth, related one, created with the remnants, ‘outcuts’, of the first series. The show derives its title from one of his iconic Armchair Paintings, ‘the rest is history’.
