Unter Urban lädt zur nächsten Ausstellung AMIGAS Y RIVALES ein.

Tragikomödie eines Migrationsprozesses, einer konservativen Familie und einer bescheidenen Kindheit - dies findet Ausdruck in den Malerein Ximena Ferrer-Pizarro´s (geb. 1994 in Lima-Peru). Das Leben in kulturellen und sozialen Gegensätzen. Beeinflusst von lateinamerikanischer Kunst im Konflikt mit ihrer europäischen Bildung, schafft Ximena sensible und lebendige Bilder mit Telenovela-Charakter, die mit dem überspitzten lateinamerikanischen Stereotyp, sowie kulturellem Wissen und kolonialem Trauma spielen. Diese sind gekennzeichnet durch anthropomorphe und und absurde Figuren, die ihre unterschiedlichen mikropolitischen Geschichten erzählen.

Hart, schräg und lustig.

In diesem Sinne ergänzen schamlos und humorvoll die Drucken und Zeichnungen Shira Orion´s (geb. 1993 in Haifa- Israel). Sie thematisieren Traumata, Gewalt und gesellschaftliche Erkrankungen. Mit Mut und Lebendigkeit will Shira trotz allem das Leben als große Feier darstellen. So Ihr Film „Triumph des Willens“ welcher den Abend mit einem Screening abrundet. Für Ihre Filme erhielt Sie 2021 eine lobende Erwähnung in den Kurzfilmtagen Oberhausen.

Unter Urban invites you to the next exhibition AMIGAS Y RIVALES.

Tragicomedy of a migration process, a conservative family and a humble childhood - this finds expression in the paintings of Ximena Ferrer-Pizarro (born 1994 in Lima-Peru). Living in cultural and social contrasts. Influenced by Latin American art in conflict with her European education, Ximena creates sensitive and vivid images with a telenovela character that play with the exaggerated Latin American stereotype, as well as cultural knowledge and colonial trauma. These are characterized by anthropomorphic and and absurd characters that tell their different micropolitical stories.

Tough, weird and funny.

In this sense, Shira Orion's (b. 1993 in Haifa- Israel) shows prints and drawings shamelessly and humorously. They address trauma, violence and social illness. With courage and liveliness, Shira wants to present life as a great celebration. So her film "Triumph of the Will" which complements the exhibitions and rounds off the evening with a screening. For her films she received an honorable mention at the Kurzfilmtage Oberhausen in 2021.
