The works of Amie Cunat, Mika Horibuchi and Florencia Escudero share a palpable curiosity of polysemic presence, which resonates through sculpture, painting and photography.
With a strong intention to color, Cunat creates camouflaged chromatic relationships through paintings, immersive installations, netted and wavy sculpture. Her floating forms grant views alluding to release and capture. Horibuchi’s practice is on the crux of creating a mirage and exploring the mythos within illusion. Reversed and repeated imagery are carried throughout several mediums with an acrobatic balance. Escudero is a multi-faceted artist utilizing found and original imagery to create soft somatic sculptures. She repurposes these sculptures, fabric, photography, location, and symbols in her steps to a final piece.
