A film screening event, alongside some art and some music - for the fans!
About
We are proud to present our second screening session of the month. This time round, we will meet at the Amersham Arms in New Cross, to showcase a series of short films by UK-based young and emerging artists, alongside some drinks, food and music.
First, we have four incredible artists who might be familiar to you: Charlie Wood, Ker Wallwork, Gemma Lewis and Emily Mulenga, who were commissioned by Wells Projects, and funded by Arts Council England, to create short films around the subject of cooking and food. This DIY TV series was named Wells Kitchen.
We premiered the four short films together in the North Street Deli, a space that supported Wells Projects during the pandemic. If you missed this event, or simply want to rewatch the amazing works (alongside never-before seen films by other emerging artists!), make sure to come along to the Amersham: We are now joining forces with Maria Valeria Biondo and the Hazel Court collective, to present you with a night filled with art and excitement.
Curators Maria Valerie Biondo and Barney Kass will present a film exploring themes on intimacy, grief and anxiety, within the human and non-human accelerated reality. This series of works retell a story of simulation.
The Hazel Court collective will present us a ramshackle mix of films, made in or about the guardianship property Hazel Court and will feature recent graduates Luca Piercy, Chloe Langois, Katrine Skovsgaard and Aria Kiani.
There will also be music by Thomas Dickson, DJ Redpepper and Barney Kass.
The event series is free, but donations are welcome! Please book your time slot.
Looking forward to seeing you all there xx
