A one day workshop for anyone interested in exploring ways of developing creative printing techniques in the darkroom.
About
Run by a practicing photographer, this one day course teaches the learner how to create images from a basic black and white negative. We explore further ways of printing creatively, such as using a double negative, using contrast filters, collaging effects, and use of specialist papers. The course also demonstrates how an image can be made without a camera at all. For example using an object placed on the paper to make a photogram( or Ray-o-gram , a term named after Man Ray and his surrealist work). The teaching takes place in the artist’s studio and places are limited to six. Darkroom chemicals and equipment provided. Extra cost for any paper used, or please bring your own if you already have this. All abilities welcome. Some darkroom experience helps but not essential. Booking essential ; contact Alison Day .
