Showing as part of Altered Festival 2015, Entering a New World is a film installation created especially for St. Andrew's Church, Heckington. Over the course of half an hour a sequence of films are shown which transform the churches interior, before returning it to peace.
Entering a New World was originally commissioned by Altered for St. Andrews church, Heckington in 2014. The work returns to the church for Altered Festival 2015. Over the course of half an hour a sequence of films are shown which transform the churches interior, before returning it to peace.
The Altered Festival 2015 marks the conclusion of Altered: Contemporary Art in Ancient Churches – a pioneering initiative masterminded by partners the University of Lincoln, the Diocese of Lincoln and artsNK – which has for years challenged audiences to view historic church buildings in innovative ways through new artworks.
