Oliver Projects is proud to present Almost Blue; a group exhibition to celebrate the nomadic gallery’s fifth anniversary. The exhibition will showcase work by a fifteen emerging and established contemporary artists, who have explored the essence and the power of the colour blue.
About
Almost Blue will feature new and recent work in a diverse range of media including painting, photography, printmaking and textiles. The exhibiting artists, including Royal Academicians Katherine Jones and Humphrey Ocean, will consider what this impactful colour symbolises, evokes and suggests for them within their practice.
Highlights will include new paintings and a limited-edition woodcut print by London-based artist Tom Hammick, new archival pigment prints by Turkish-born artist Guler Ates, and new work by highly collectable emerging artists Alice Macdonald, Siphiwe Mnguni and Joana Galego. Almost Blue will also introduce Copenhagen-based artist Marianne Thygesen, whose work has not been exhibited in the UK before.
Founder and Director, Katherine Oliver said, “"As we celebrate five years of Oliver Projects, Almost Blue reflects our commitment to presenting artwork by contemporary artists in accessible ways. This exhibition invites audiences to explore the nuances of the colour blue and its profound influence on creativity.
All works will be available for sale from the exhibition and from www.oliverprojects.com; prices will range from £500 - £5000. Please visit www.oliverprojects.com/exhibitions-and-fairs for a full list of exhibitors. ” Almost Blue is presented in association with the Royal Watercolour Society.
