The Allotment Project is a programme of interactive dining events, created by Evy Jokhova, which explore the cultural connotations associated with food, ritual and mealtime practices through participatory dinners, discussions and talks. On this evening, the dinner is being presented with guest contributors that include researcher Viviana Biancini and artist Tessa Alexis.
About
Allotment #10 | White City will trace the changes in demographic and general food type availability over the period spanning from 1865-2015 in the Notting Hill area, taking into account changes brought about by war, economy, migration and policy. We are hosting this project during Chudamani Clowes’s solo show, ‘White City’, because the exhibition focuses particularly on stories of displacement and the history of cultural representation in the area around Griffin Gallery.
This will be a ticketed dining experience which is open to the public, and half of the proceeds from our tickets sales will go to Notting Hill Housing. Notting Hill Housing's purpose is to provide affordable housing for residents of London; they have been doing so since they started as a local voluntary organization in 1963.
We will be announcing a guest speaker and screening a brief film at the start of the evening. Places are limited for this event so we advise booking early to avoid disappointment. We very much hope you can join us!
Tickets are £30 and include wine or beer and a three course meal. You can make your purchase via Eventbrite, please follow the link here to join us.
