Marking the centennial of WWI Remembrance Day Observances, British – Canadian
artist Allen Ball presents The Mechanics, to complete his two-part photographic
installation Photography in a State of Exception: Spaces of Remembrance
in the Window Space at the ASC Gallery. This work complements
Bridgewalker, a yearlong public artwork installed in the stairwell at Erlang
House that opened on November 11, 2013. Both The Mechanics and Bridgewalker
are images drawn from research he conducted as an embedded official
Canadian War Artist with Canadian Forces Operation Calumet in the Sinai Peninsula.
