D'AUCHEL is the family name of founder Olivier Dauchez, the descendant of a French noble family that originated in 13th Century (XIII) France. Growing up in his mother’s French castle, the 100-year-old Chateaux de Villechaize in Loire Valley, Olivier played amongst majestic French gilt armors, hand-woven artistic tapestries, and elaborately carved period pieces of wood furniture. As such, he learned to appreciate the fine work and traditional know-how of the master artisan, who spends decades perfecting his craft. This appreciation, passed down for generations and honed by a grandfather who was a master craftsman of silk scarves, led Olivier to develop an exquisite eye for the details of luxury.
