About

A line of poetry often inspires an idea for a theme.. Our theme: All the Street's a Stage, is, of course, a play on Shakespeares 'All the World's a Stage'. It is a recognition that we are social creatures that need to create and use public space to interact, encounter, escape, pass through, to act out our narrative. Simply put: to look and be seen. A gamut of relationships and connections with the Street is regulated by tacit rules and conventions. An equisite understanding of personal space and territory is implicit; there are rituals of politeness - you can look but not stare, otherwise, its a poetic case of, 'To withstand the passerby-by's gaze without morphine.' There are multiple dimensions and nuances of 'street-life'. In our photographs, we hope to have conveyed some insight and spirit of that which we all immersive game players. 'In the street it all happens noisily when engines collide with the heart.' - Rudolf Langer.
