Ju Canon presents ‘All Over the Place’ at Craving Coffee. Her debut exhibition will feature graphic design, illustration, embroideries, clothing and paintings.
The works being presented across a number of mediums highlights the artist’s relentless curiosity and adaptable nature. As is suggested by the title, a singular theme isn’t forthcoming, instead, a plethora of ideas are explored - indicative of a restless 21st century mind over-exposed to a constant barrage of contradictory content and ideas.
That said, the study of body is clear to see. Learning what it means to inhabit one by examining magnified elements, aiming to love the sum of all parts.
Death is also a fascination of Ju’s, not so much in a morbid sense but more the objective of being ‘ready to die’ whenever that may be. Being content in the knowledge that you’ve explored all avenues, asked all questions, turned every stone and been ‘all over the place.’
