Artists Maria Macc and Hannah Scott, explore our relationship with the sea through a collaborative, site-specific installation, addressing the impact of consumer culture on the natural environment.
About
Personal interests in ecology and environmental responsibility are considered through an installation bringing together insights over a year long dialogue between the artists. The scale of the sea and the enormity of our consumption is considered through narratives from Hannah’s journey on one of the world’s largest container ships as opposed to the experiences Maria shared with the fishermen of Lizard Point, Cornwall.Maria Macc
Maria Macc investigates themes of survival, ecology and the effects of human intervention on our environment. With a highly process driven approach she interrogates organic and industrial materials, and creates works inspired by personal narratives. She is a graduate of the MA Art and Science degree at Central Saint Martins. www.mariamacc.co.uk
Hannah Scott
London based artist, Hannah Scott, explores ways of visualising and communicating environmental change. She is a graduate of Central Saint Martins MA Art and Science programme. Hannah was awarded a MullenLowe NOVA for her on-going project exploring the impact of plastic on the environment. www.hannahscott.com
