About
Alison Boult is a young London based artist. Her paintings and drawings centre around both real and fictional spaces. Her work is rooted in observational drawing but also takes imagery from novels and films through which she explores the boundaries between real and fictional situations and events.
This exhibition showcases Boult's recent landscapes; sparsely populated by plants and mysterious objects, they feel inhabited by people that remain unseen to the viewer giving them an eerie quality. Alison only this month returned from Iceland - the exhibition will feature some of the work made during this painting residency amongst the barren and bitterly cold landscape.
These open, desolate places are presented alongside images conceived in London, which share a sense of isolation and disillusionment at our ability to fit meaningfully within an urban landscape.
The exhibition features works in oil, gouache and watercolour. All works are for sale.
