About

Aline Bouvy and John Gillis 'Venusia' 2007 Ilsa Colsell 'A recognisable lustre' 2009 Volume presents 'Venusia' (2007) a film by Aline Bouvy and John Gillis alongside 'A recognisable lustre' (2009) a commissioned text by Ilsa Colsell. 'Venusia' works as a catalyst for the commissioned text. Referencing genres in writing and fashion, the works celebrate beauty, decadence and the macabre through collage and cut-up. Both film and text capture, rearrange and unfold. Ilsa Colsell's commissioned text 'A recognisable lustre' will be distributed at Volume throughout the screening. The exhibition will run throughout the 3rd, 4th and 5th July in conjunction with The Old Police Station open studios, party and events. Open Friday 6pm until late Saturday and Sunday 12pm-6pm
