A presentation of new work by Alicia Tsigarides, marking the end of her six month ceramic residency with arts group Collective Matter.
About
Imagine yourself in land of mountain wilderness, interspersed with glacial glens and lochs.
You are standing on the peak, high above the ground, looking down on a valley of purple mist.
Feel the breeze as the wind carries the scent of lavender towards you.
Following this sweet and smokey fragrance, you descend into the navel of this island.
It feels good to finally be here.
You are alone.

During her six months on the Collective Matter Ceramic Residency, Alicia has been developing ceramic sculpture and creative writing in response to The Land of the Lotus Eaters. A short Greek mythological story from The Odyssey, it features a paradise island dominated by lotus fruits that have a narcotic effect. Her installation expands on the themes of temptation and ecstasy within the original text

She will be performing a reading of her new text work 'The Ultimate Journey' on the night at 7.30pm.
The installation will be open on Saturday 23rd March 11am - 5pm by appointment, with additional readings at 2pm and 4pm.
