We are delighted to present our fifth season of contemporary artists' talks in a partnership between the University of Worcester’s Fine Art department and Meadow Arts.
About
Alia Pathan is an interdisciplinary artist interested in memory, technology and subjectivity. Fire Rooster (2017) was Alia Pathan’s inaugural solo exhibition in London and included opera, video and 4D Sculpture inspired by the artist's actual and imagined journeys “home”. Spanning three continents this artwork negotiated the notion of provenance and intra-cultural identity constructed through pop culture.
They have exhibited nationally and internationally including Mount Florida Screenings at GoMA, EM15 Sunscreen, a collateral project for the 56th Venice Biennale, 4th Moscow International Biennale of Young Art, LOOP Festival Barcelona, Superdeluxe Tokyo and Note On, Berlin. Alia is the recipient of numerous awards including ASC Development Fund 2017, Red Mansion Art Prize Beijing Residency 2016, A‐N Go and See Venice Bursary 2015, Goldsmiths/ICA Moscow Scholarship Residency 2014.
