Alfredo Camisa. Between amazement and project

" There may not be the salons, the exhibitions, the prizes and the criticisms: we would also photograph because it is not a function of all this that we photograph. For us photography exists only as emotion, as a chance to express reality sincerely and poetically ". These are the words of Alfredo Camisa who, written in an article with his friend Piergiorgio Branzi, clearly describe his way of interpreting photography: during his artistic career the style changed abruptly, moving from the initial compositions to themes more and more related to the human figure to remain faithful to his most intimate interests.

On display at the Still gallery, from September 27th to October 26th, a selection of shots retracing Alfredo Camisa's career, demonstrating how the photographer always managed to infuse images - be they elegant geometric compositions or intense portraits - with a clear subjectivity, making himself a witness of a world that was passing in the turn of a generation that he had lived in the first person.
