Gallery in the Lanes, Norwich is proud to announce that Lightscapes, a free exhibition of new works by local artist Alfie Carpenter, will be on show from 5 – 18 July.
About
Alfie works instinctively on location. With a Womble-like creative eye he incorporates the litter that he finds to build a base from which to work. He combines techniques like collage, marbling and printing with paint. The resulting paintings of East Anglia’s landscapes are filled with colour and light.
Exhibiting mixed-media landscape paintings in his first solo show with Gallery in the Lanes, Ian Sayer, Gallery Supervisor says of Alfie’s work:
‘Alfie’s passion for the environment and the energy which he infuses in each of his paintings are what first drew my attention to his work. There’s such a drama to his compositions and a confidence in colour and materials that we know visitors to our gallery will fall in love with them’
The exhibition opens with a preview Thursday July 5, 4:00 to 6:00 pm and runs for two weeks. Those interested can contact the gallery for further information at info@galleryinthelanes.co.uk.
